ABOUT

Who is Tiffani (with an "i")?

Tiffani is a Designer! (yes, and?...)

Fun fact about Tiffani: She tells people that she always wished she could sing, but instead, she found that her talent resides in and with her hands. This is both metaphor and literal: Her grandmother is tattooed on her left wrist, so she is with Tiffani as she designs (she’s a southpaw), and she matches her nail art to her scenery for opening night or premieres!

Tiffani is a Washington, DC-based Production, Scenic, and Interactive Media Designer. She holds an MFA in Production Design and a graduate certificate in Exhibit Design from The George Washington University, and a BA in both Art History and Studio Art from the University of Maryland. Her studies focused on 20th-century African American art history, and her work remains in dialogue with this aesthetic, drawing from the richness of cultural history and representation. She has designed a wide variety of projects for clients, including regional theater, exhibit halls, major film studios, and immersive environments. Tiffani's design work spans multiple mediums, from set and production design to interactive media, helping to bring unique visions to life for a wide array of audiences. She endeavors for her career to serve as a reflection of her identity — from mentoring individuals from backgrounds traditionally excluded from the industry, to identifying and collaborating with and growing our design community, and choosing projects that center and amplify voices of color.

Oh, and why herding cats? (And honestly, #dogmom) In addition to being a wife and mom of two awesome (and energetic!) young boys, she has a prior career of over 15 years as a fine art and graphic design educator. While this extensive background in art has certainly proved useful in her design career, the most critical experience she carried forward was the ability to articulate an aesthetic to a wide range of individuals and sensibilities and motivate them to execute a cohesive design — much like herding cats!

Instead of creating a space in a WORLD;

I'd rather create a world in a SPACE.
